NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
September 13, 2018
Instructional Materials Sufficiency Intended for 2018/19 Traditional and Year-Round Academic Calendars
 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the intention of the Cypress School District Board of Trustees to hold a public hearing or hearings on Education Code Section 60119, which establishes steps and procedures to ensure the availability of textbooks and instructional materials.

The Board shall encourage participation by parents, teachers, members of the community interested in the affairs of the school district, and bargaining unit leaders, and shall make a determination, through a resolution, as to whether each pupil in each school in the district has sufficient textbooks or instructional materials, or both, that are aligned to the content standards adopted pursuant to Section 60605 or 60605.8 in each of the following subjects, as appropriate, that is consistent with the content and cycles of the curriculum framework adopted by the state board:

  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • History-social science
  • English/language arts,  including  English  language  development  component  of  an adopted program

The public hearing will be held on September 13, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Cypress School District Administration Office, 9470 Moody Street, Cypress, California 90630. At such time, the comments of all interested persons regarding the subject of Instructional Materials Sufficiency Intended for 2018/19 Traditional and Year-Round Academic Calendars will be heard.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Governing Board of the Cypress School District, at its Regular Board Meeting to be held on May 10, 2018, will hold a public hearing, pursuant to Education Code Section 17620 and Government Code Section 65995, as it considers an increase of statutory school facility fees imposed on new residential and commercial/ industrial construction.

Reports titled Residential Development School Fee Justification Study for Cypress School District and Commercial/Industrial Development School Fee Justification Study for Cypress School District justifying such increases are on file at the Cypress School District administration office located at 9470 Moody Street, Cypress, CA, and are available for public review from May 2, 2018, through May 10, 2018.
