Fringe Benefits

CERTIFICATED EMPLOYEES: 

  • District-Paid Leave:  Employees represented by the Association of Cypress Teachers (ACT) are entitled to district-paid accruable sick leave, industrial accident & illness compensation leave, bereavement, jury duty, witness leave, and military leave.  Detailed information about leaves and the Catastrophic Leave Bank is available in the ACT Contract Agreement (Article 6).

  • Health & Welfare Benefits:  Employees working full time (50% or more) may participate in the medical, dental, life, and vision programs provided by the District.  Information may be found in the Business Services Department Health and Welfare Benefits pages or the ACT Contract Agreement (Article 5).

  • Retirement System Contributions:  The District contributes toward a member employees’ CalSTRS retirement account at a rate of 17.1% of their monthly earnings.  Additional information may be found on the Retirement Information page regarding CalSTRS employee membership and contributions.

CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES

  • District-Paid Leave:  Employees represented by the California School Employees Association (CSEA) are entitled to district-paid accruable sick leave, industrial accident & illness compensation leave, bereavement, and jury duty, witness leave, and military leave.  Detailed information about leaves and the Catastrophic Leave Bank is available in the CSEA Contract Agreement (Article 6).

  • District-Paid Holidays:  Eligible employees receive fourteen (14) paid holidays each calendar year.  Information is available in the CSEA Contract Agreement (Article 6.J).

  • Health & Welfare Benefits:  Employees working at least four hours per day may participate in the medical, dental, life, and vision programs provided by the District.  Information may be found in the Business Services Department Health and Welfare Benefits pages or the CSEA Contract Agreement (Article 5).

  • Paid Vacation:  Classified employees receive accruable vacation time.  Detailed information is found in the CSEA Contract Agreement (Article 6.I).

  • Retirement System Contributions:  The District contributes toward a member employees’ CalPERS retirement account at a rate of 19.721% of their monthly earnings.  Additional information may be found on the Retirement Information page regarding CalPERS employee membership and contributions.
