Focus Area 1)  Student Achievement / Outcomes

Provide a rigorous and well-rounded educational program that effectively meets the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all students.

1. Implement research-based ‘Signature Practices’ including: Thinking Maps, Write from the Beginning, Small Group Instruction, College and Career Connections, and PBIS 

2. Pilot new math curriculum options at all grade levels and school sites 
3. Advance collaborative team practices to analyze assessment data, refine core instruction, and target enrichment or intervention
4. Study thematic opportunities or innovative program additions for each site
5. Expand access to mainstream general education environments for students receiving special education services
6. Strengthen the instructional integrity of classroom technology to ensure digital tools prioritize cognitive depth, provide robust learning, and align with core curricular standards

Focus Area 2)  Stakeholder Engagement

Strengthen relationships with educational partners by fostering open communication and providing opportunities for meaningful engagement that lead to student success.

1. Implement effective communication systems to deliver clear, consistent messaging
2. Actively celebrate the contributions of students, employees, and community members
3. Initiate Superintendent Advisory Groups to expand two-way communication
4. Improve website, social media, and e-blast impact
5. Increase proactive communication with families of special education students through “Coffee with a Coordinator” meetings

Focus Area 3)  Resource Management

Ensure responsible and strategic use of fiscal and human resources to optimize student learning.

1. Utilize the Facilities Master Plan to identify modernization opportunities at school sites  
2. Ensure appropriate staffing practices across all sites/departments and implement programs to recruit, attract, and retain staff  
3. Maintain a self-sustaining Child Nutrition Services program while expanding scratch cooking, local sourcing, and nutrition education
4. Identify ways to increase and recover student attendance 
5. Support new hires, including classified, certificated, and administrative roles
6. Identify opportunities to more efficiently utilize district-owned facilities
7. Study special education and implement efficiencies and fade plans, where appropriate, while improving student outcomes
8. Generate supplemental income to offset general fund expenses or create new programs
9. Execute a process to reimagine the Cypress Education Foundation  

Focus Area 4)  School Safety

Promote and protect the physical and emotional safety of students on all school campuses.

1. Improve campus safety, including the support of SEL and mental health programming, auditing emergency supply inventory, recording drills, tightening alignment with local police and fire agencies, and participation in EPIC
2. Strengthen student wellness through nutrition education, access to nutritious foods, and implementation of the district’s Student Wellness policy
3. Provide administrators with training, tools, and opportunities to collaborate so that common procedures, Incident Command System (ICS) roles, communication protocols, and response expectations are understood and implemented consistently across all campuses
