PRESCHOOL
WELCOME!
Cypress School District offers a blended preschool program designed to support the developmental needs of young children. The program serves income-eligible three and four-year-olds as well as children with identified special needs in an inclusive classroom setting and is supported through multiple funding sources, including the California State Preschool Program (CSPP).
Our program emphasizes the growth of the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, and linguistically—through play-based, developmentally appropriate experiences. Children learn and grow together through exploration, interaction, and guided support from caring, qualified staff, helping them build confidence and foundational skills for future learning.

Quality Counts California: Cypress School District Earns a 5-Star Rating
Cypress School District is proud to participate in Quality Counts California (QCC), the state’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) designed to assess and strengthen early learning programs across California. Through this rigorous process, early childhood programs are evaluated using the Quality Continuum Framework (QCF), which measures quality across multiple research-based elements including child development, teacher qualifications, effective teacher-child interactions, ratios and group size, and leadership qualifications.
We are honored to share that our preschool programs have received a Tier 5 – 5-Star Rating, the highest level of recognition. This rating reflects our ongoing commitment to:
● Providing developmentally appropriate and inclusive environments
● Implementing evidence-based assessments and developmental screenings
● Maintaining low teacher-to-child ratios
● Ensuring highly qualified teachers and leaders with ongoing professional development
● Fostering strong family and community engagement
This achievement highlights the district’s dedication to delivering high-quality early learning experiences that lay a strong foundation for every child’s success in school and life.

All of our preschool classrooms have achieved a 5-star QRIS rating. This rating reflects the highest quality for preschool programs.

Cypress School District and First 5 Orange County: A Collaborative Partnership
Cypress School District (CSD) is proud to partner with First 5 Orange County, an organization dedicated to building an integrated early childhood system that families experience as a seamless network of care and support.
First 5 Orange County was established following the passage of Proposition 10—the California Children and Families Act of 1998—which imposed a 50-cent tax on tobacco products sold in the state. The resulting funds are used to support education, health, and developmental services for children from the prenatal stage through age five.
Through this partnership, CSD and First 5 Orange County are working together to utilize Early Development Index (EDI) data. This valuable tool helps inform educators, families, and community members about how to create environments and services that promote healthy development and lifelong learning for young children and their caregivers.
