Kindergarten sets the stage for a child’s entire educational career, and it has everything to do with the teachers in the classroom. We want every child to have the experiences that they need to be successful in life. Our kindergarten teachers work really hard to ensure that their students are successful. They care about not only their academic success, but their social and emotional success. I became a teacher because I was inspired by my kindergarten and first grade teachers. I've always wanted to inspire other kids. Here at Cypress School District, we provide so many different opportunities for our students to explore and learn. We have a program that practices social and emotional learning. We have STEM and we have a music program. I really like kindergarten because we can learn new things. I like singing with other people because we get to work together. What excites me about teaching kindergarten is to see that the kids are really learning and loving what they are doing. Honestly, being a parent has really changed the way I view kindergarten. I really hope my students feel valued and important. I think we're personally invested in the children that come to our school district, and so you feel that when you come as a new parent to kindergarten.
