COVID-19 Testing

Staff Testing


On August 11, 2021, the California Department of Public Health issued a public health order requiring that all K-12 public school staff be fully vaccinated or undergo weekly COVID-19 testing.


The district is contracting with Xpress Urgent Care to offer weekly COVID-19 testing for employees. Employees will not be charged for COVID-19 testing. Health insurance companies are required to pay for testing. The district will cover the cost for employees without insurance coverage.  
Testing takes place every Wednesday, from 2:00-4:00 p.m., at the Xpress Urgent Care clinic located at 4332 Katella Avenue in Los Alamitos. Xpress Urgent Care will email test results directly to the employee.
Employees who have not been tested by Xpress Urgent Care within the last four months must provide:
•    Permission to Release COVID-19 Test Results form (2 copies)
•    Health insurance card, if insured (2 copies of front and back)
•    Driver's license (2 copies of front only)
Employees who test weekly or have been tested by Xpress Urgent Care within the last four months will need to show their school photo identification badge and provide:
•    Permission to Test for COVID-19 form (2 copies)
Fully vaccinated employees may be tested on a voluntary basis. Self-collection COVID-19 testing kits are also available at no cost in the school office for symptomatic and exposed asymptomatic employees.



Student Testing


Upon request, self-collection COVID-19 testing kits are available at no cost for students in the school office.
