Parent Involvement

In the Cypress School District, relationships matter! We strive to engage parents and families in meaningful ways to support the success of our students. In addition to traditional opportunities to get involved (Parent Teacher Association, School Site Councils, District English Learner Advisory Committee), we offer parent education programs and activities at both the school and district levels to strengthen our partnership with parents.

The research on parent involvement reveals that, regardless of family income or background, students with involved parents are more likely to…

  • Adapt well to school
  • Attend school regularly
  • Show improved behavior
  • Have better social skills
  • Earn higher grades and test scores
  • Be promoted, pass their classes, and earn credits
  • Enroll in higher-level programs
  • Graduate and go on to postsecondary education

We encourage you to take advantage of every opportunity to actively participate in your child’s education. Please check our school and district websites frequently for updates on our parent involvement events.

For information on parent involvement opportunities at the county level, visit the Orange County Department of Education website.

VOLUNTEER!

To register as a volunteer:
  1. Complete an online volunteer application. The district contracts with Raptor Technologies for visitor and volunteer management.
  2. Obtain a TB clearance (form available below).  Education Code requires that anyone having frequent and prolonged contact with students provide evidence of TB clearance.  Clearance must be dated no earlier than 60 days prior to your application.
  3. Provide the school office with your TB clearance and state-issued ID.
